Matric qualification essential
Relevant tertiary qualification covering digital brand communications or similar
At least 8-10 years’ experience within a digital communication and or brand communications leadership role within a customer led business
A proven track record in leading the digital brand communications
Proven leadership skills, with the ability to drive performance and drive the execution of the brand strategy
Proven business management skills

Be the brand custodian (CI & ToV) across paid (advertising)/ owned (content, club, local territory platforms)/ earned (social, PR)
Direct and oversee the brand positioning strategy
Responsible for brand communication planning
Drive content development (storytelling) linked to brand campaigns and always-on- activities (film, photography, blogs, podcasts etc.)
Own member communications (non- administrative), newsletters, partner and loyalty offers
Resolve escalated customer care concerns and management (incl. social media monitoring and community management)
Involved in driving PR-launches, announcements and crisis communications
Social media content co-ordination, distribution and measurement
Liaison with agency partners which includes briefing and management of partner budgets
Involved with event and activation management
Leading our people, the Virgin Way, overseeing Recruitment, Performance Management, engagement of our people and coaching according to the Virgin Coaching methodology.
Managing and overseeing the annual budget and intricately involved in budget planning and forecasting.
Responsible for upholding the brand and as a senior leader of the team, ensuring that the full marketing team is aligned to the business strategy by ensuring our people execute the strategy in the Virgin Way.
Engage daily with our Africa Operating Board as well as other senior stakeholders within the business.
